The Star: 3 Cards Interpreting Tarot
Three cards is a series that explores meaning and imagery in tarot. It asks how do different decks bring in varying meanings to the cards with different images. This month is the Star.
Animalis Os Fortuna
The Star
This Star card is very charming as it features a frog on a lily pad. In fairy tales the frog is often transformed into something wonderful. It reminds you to look deeper then the surface and find the meanings that are not in your face. It brings in the wish aspect with the shooting star in the background. That if you pay attention you can get what you wish for and to have hope.
Thought Prompt
Are you willing to go deeper to find out what is below the surface? How can hope and gratitude help you keep your wish alive?
The Mythic Tarot 80’s version
The Star
This deck features Pandora whose name means all gifts. She was told to take care of that box, not open it. But her human curiosity got the best of her and she opened the box. This deck focuses in the hope aspect of the Star. That no matter how awful things are that hope can help get you through it. The use of Pandora also calls you to use your gifts and use them to let hope flourish.
Thought Prompt
How can you use what you already have to nourish your hope? What does hope mean to you and how does it show up in your life?
Starchild Akashic Tarot
The Star
This Star has a very cosmic feel to it. It brings in the concept of limitlessness and willingness to move into huge energies to expand what you are creating. That small things can create wonderful and huge things by a thought. Because that’s what it starts with one tiny thought of lets do this. Each thought and action feeds the limitless energy that expands into the the Universe and the Stars. There’s also an aspect of being willing to flow with things and not resist when the thought starts to change into what it needs to be.
Thought Prompt
How can a thought change everything? Do you resist letting things change to meet your needs or the needs of the project?
