There are times you care
Can’t do anything about it!
All You get to do is observe.
I live out in a rural area where there’s loads of wildlife and ranchers. (BTW: the cows simulate the natural ecosystems.) And sometimes you get attached to a wild creature for whatever reason. But you don’t get to act on that attachment. All you get to do is observe.
Because that’s what’s healthy.
There’s an injured bear in the neighborhood. I named him Benji because it you are gonna care about a wild animal, it deserves a real name. The injury was discovered when Benji wouldn’t move off fast via binoculars.
A call went into the ranger. Yes, sometimes you need a ranger’s advice or permission out here. Ranger suggested we ride it out and let them know if Benji got to be an issue. Normally it is a matter of scaring them off and keeping them freaked.
But, Benji’s hurt and that bear was not going anywhere one evening, not too close but not too far either. No one wants him comfortable around humans. No one wants Benji to get more injured either.
All we get to do is keep an eye on Benji and make sure that bear keeps being wary of humans. All we can do is watch and observe. It is best for Benji and best for us.
Mom and I are hoping Benji makes a speedy recovery.

Fuzzy Handcuffs & Strength
Can the soft be strong? Strength is all too often framed in the language of aggression and toughness. But do you want that? There is a strength to being soft and kind that feels so much better then being hard. Think of it as a marshmallow energy that you are mutable and can bounce back from what’s happening. Seek the soft this week.

Unknown & the Eight of Swords
It hasn’t even happened and might never happen, but you have the disaster set up in you head. You need not to do this, it is not good. It is one thing to prepare for an outcome that is not optimal, that can be healthy. But when you have everything going wrong and bad and never gonna work, you start to have a problem. You want to work on not doing that and creating some outcomes in you head that are good. Go read pile two and ask what would Stevie do?
